Team History

Louisiana Tech Hockey was founded in 2008-2009 by Cole Luse as it became a recognized school team. On September 5th 2009 under the guidance of co-founder Michael Hinton the Louisiana Tech Hockey Team entered the SCHL (Southwest Collegiate Hockey League) which is one of seven divisions of the NCRHA (National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association) national body. The Inaugural 2009-2010 season was capped off with a third place finish and SCHL Rookie of the Year Award  going to the team captain Kevin (Cody) Fontenot. The 2010-2011 season was even more successful with a fourth place finish and the team's first ever play-off win. The tradition continued to grow in the 2013-2014 season with David Johnson finishing the season as the National Goal Scoring leader, as well as Josh Lodatto being the first player from La Tech to be name an All-American. Since the the program has finished the past three seasons ranked in the top 15 in the nation.
